For the letter 'N' I have chosen the colour Neon Green-a bright, fluorescent shade which is a popular fashion statement during summer and on the clubbing scene. This Pinterest board shows some examples.

Complementary colours: Neon pink
Plants and flowers: There are plenty of green plants and flowers, but I've not seen any neon ones unless they're dyed or artifical.
Animals: Paradise tanager bird, green broadbill, broad-billed Tody bird, some species of snake and frog, some fish, some parrots and tropical birds.
Foods: Some sour apple or lime sweets.
I think this colour looks great with black, as in the picture above. It would be a fun look for a night out. You could try pairing neon heels with an LBD for a pop of vibrant colour. In the summer you can get away with teaming it with neon pink-the perfect contrast colour and white, which will freshen up the look.
Would you dare to wear neon green?

Symbolism
Neon green is often associated with summer, confidence, energy and drama. It can also symbolise the exotic, as such a bright colour is rarely seen in the natural world. Neon green can also represent things that are artificial, chemical, dangerous (eg. toxic waste) and acidic (eg. sour sweets). It's often used in psychedelic art, which is inspired by the effects of taking hallucinogenic drugs such as LSD (known as acid).

Neon Green Fashion & Beauty
Obviously, wearing neon green makes a bit of a statement. It's a loud, eye-catching colour that demands attention. I don't recommend dressing in neon from head to toe, but I do think it can work well in small doses-in accessories or eye makeup for example. Back in the 1980s we were neons all the time! And I always kind of liked the neon green with the neon orange as well as the neon pink. :-) Fun post! If you have time you should stop by and check out my N post.
ReplyDeleteNeon green reminds me of the 1980s with leg warmers and socks of different neon colours. I can't quite see it seriously because of that.
