I've read 23 of the Top 100 Books

There is currently a meme going around on facebook which is a list of the UK's favourite 100 books and the idea is to count which ones you have read. The list is based on the Guardian's 100 books you can't live without and the BBC Big Read Top 100 lists, but has significant differences to both. According to the facebook meme, the BBC claimed that most people have only read 6 of the books on this list. However, I can't actually find any evidence on their website that they said that, and it wouldn't really make sense considering they asked people to name their favourite books, so it's most likely one of those Chinese whispers scenarios.

Anyway, here is my response to the facebook meme:

  1. Well done! Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting. I see what you mean about them being popular UK books and not necessarily classics. I didn't overlook the UK part but thought maybe the UK thought they were all classics, ha!

You are very well read. Great job!
